Pakleni Islands Tour (Pakleni Otoci) – Jerolim beach, Carpe Diem, Mlini, Palmižana, Milna
The Pakleni islands are the product of a rich history of ancient explorers and their desire to create an exotic escape from the rest of industrial Europe. The place is therefore a hive of elegant estates, huge colourful gardens and beautifully unspoilt rocky coastlines. The Pakleni Islands, the emerald jewels opposite Hvar Town, are a major attraction for sailors, beach and nature lovers. Often mistakenly called Hell’s Islands, the name Pakleni is taking from a type of resin used in ship building. While they may all look fairly similar from the air, there is incredible diversity
Franciscan Monastery Hvar – Franjevački samostan Hvar – (Google Map)
11:00 AM (Check in is 15-20 minutes before departure time)
From Hvar departure location to Jerolim it takes 10-15 minutes. This is Hvar closest small island, famous also as nudist island. This is a short stop, we will be here 10-20 minutes. This is a good place to take photos.
Named as CNN’s top naturist beach in the world in 2011, Jerolim is one of the most liberal islands in Dalmatia. Don’t hesitate to venture further into the lush, island forest of pine trees and reach other smaller bays dotted around the island. Kodovan bay is home to rustic, wooden sculptures created by local artists and offers a more traditional vibe compared to the glamour of many of Hvar’s other beaches.
From Jerolim to Carpe Diem it takes 5-10 minutes. We will be here 15-20 min so you can take a drink or take a few photos. This is famous Hvar Night Beach club.
From Carpe Diem Hvar beach club to Mlini it takes 10-15 minutes. We will be here 45-60 minutes, you can swim and snorkel here, you can go to restaurant here to eat, this is optional.
Mlini beach is well-loved but only by the few people that know of it – it’s a hidden gem on an otherwise busy Pakleni island. We’ll reach a bay of extremely clear water, a traditional stone-built restaurant and a beautiful pebble coast line shaded by the pine forest that dominates the island.
From Mlini to Palmižana it takes 10-15 minutes. We will be in Palmižana 45-60 minutes. Free time for swimming, snorkeling, visiting Laganini day bar, relax time on most popular sandy beach bay.
Today, Palmizana stands as the most popular and the largest bay within the Pakleni islands allowing you to enjoy a combination of natural, unspoiled beaches and beautifully designed restaurants and bars. These beach side hideouts let you enjoy the freshest seafood possible alongside cocktails and wines – a great pick-me-up for when you’re feeling exhausted from travelling. There are endless restaurants and even an art gallery so Palmizana is well-equipped to look after you on your trip out from the main town.
Leaving Pakleni islands archipelagos and heading to South Coast on our way to Milna we will see spectacular Borce bay near Milna village. From Palmižana to Milna it takes 30 minutes. We will stay here 60 minutes. Snorkeling, swimming and sightseeing Milna village panorama.
The closest village only 4 km from Hvar town on the southern seashore of the island, is a small Milna village. (don’t confuse this village with Milna on Brac island). It’s nested in a well sheltered cove with several pebble beaches. Besides the beautiful beaches, Milna offers few restaurants with daily fresh fish, homemade olive oil and good local wine. If you are looking for a quite place far from the summer crowds, this tiny village is a perfect place for families with kids.
After visiting all destinations, we will head back to Hvar departure location. Return trip is 30 minutes long. We hope you enjoy our Hvar Pakleni island tour.
